OUR APPROACH TO THERAPY
The Therapy relationship can be a powerful source of change: we build a container where I provide thoughtful presence, empathy, and serous inquiry. Together we develop trust, delve into uncharted territory, explore carefully, face obstacles, and gain new understanding of oneself and one's world. My priority is creating a safe space for you to be yourself. I pride myself on my interactive style and creating strong connections with all of my clients. I believe that having this therapeutic relationship will help you get the most out of our work together.
Whether you are dealing with feelings of anxiety, depression, family conflict or relationship issues, it is important that you know that there is hope to feel better and have a satisfying life. We will discover the tools that you already have inside of you that will help you find peace within yourself, accomplish your goals and connect with others in a way that feels good.

YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THERAPY
At first you might feel overwhelmed to be vulnerable and share or even ask for help. You will find that in our sessions and your experience in therapy you will feel more empowered to manage your emotions in a healthier way and get along better with others including your family members. I know it is hard to be vulnerable and ask for help. I will continue to be there for you during our sessions, week after week to provide a supportive space for your to share and explore your feelings.
Your first session with me will be different from future visits. The initial visit is a period for you and I to get to know each other and get an idea on how to proceed. I'll start out asking questions related to the presenting problem(s). We'll work to bring a new perspective to these issues. In the beginning, It's recommended that the person commit to once per week in order to gain traction with the therapeutic process. Every persons is different, so the length of treatment depends on the presenting issues, the commitment you have to the process of therapy, and your goals for therapy. Some issues are short-term, focusing on a specific problem, and others are more long-term addressing complex issues and personal growth.
